Playwright, actors and “would-be’s are wanted, as well as producers, theater students and skilled readers. The play reading program will begin this fall and will run into the winter. Weekly attendance is not mandatory. If you are interested please contact Pat McLeod, Library Director at (413) 458-5369 or pmcleod@williamstown.net. Teach for InkberryIs there a workshop you’d like to teach? A book discussion group you’d like to lead? We’re always looking for new teachers and good ideas for classes. If you’re interested in teaching with Inkberry, email Linda White, our board chair. Be sure to mention the topic, class format, how many times the class would meet and how long those meetings would be, and when you’d be available to teach it. Please also include an overview of your credentials in the email: what makes you a great teacher for this class? (Remember, you don’t need to be an award-winning writer to be a terrific teacher of writing, just as you don’t need advanced degrees to lead a fantastic book group. Experience always helps, but what’s most important is that you be passionate and well-informed about your topic.) Please note that in the past, Inkberry’s classes have run for anywhere from one day to ten weeks, and have met on weekday evenings or weekend days — or online! Read for InkberryWe’re always on the lookout for great writers to add to our reading series. Do you have polished material you’d like to read before an audience? Send email to Bill Belcher, our reading series coordinator, with information about who you are, what you write, and publishing and/or performance credits. You should also include a short writing sample of your recent work (no more than three pages!). Please be aware that our readings are usually on Saturday evenings and run for roughly one hour. We book readings anywhere from three months to one year in advance, so if there’s a particular time you’d like to come, be sure to give us plenty of notice. We have an extremely limited budget for honoraria, travel, and the like, but we do offer an attentive, engaged audience, book sales, and placement in a reading series that’s included such luminaries as Donald Hall, Pam Houston, Claire Messud, Alicia Ostriker, Martin Espada. Staff OpeningsSorry, Inkberry is not hiring at this time. Intern at InkberryIf you’re smart, energetic, and dedicated, and have the time to commit, this could be your chance to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at how small arts nonprofits function! We’re seeking capable men and women who have enthusiasm for what we do. And beyond that… General Internships8-10 hours per week. The general internship experience is likely to include a wide variety of tasks. Under the supervision of Inkberry’s executive director, interns may be asked to do some or all of the following (actual responsibilities will vary, depending on the intern’s individual strengths): research grant opportunities; draft grant applications; distribute Inkberry calendars and flyers; assist with audience-building; donor research; help coordinate readings; staff the resource library; communicate with publishers and literary magazines; draft press releases; maintain our website; assorted administrative tasks. This internship is equivalent to 3.0 course credits and invloves 2-3 hours of general intern duties, including help with Inkberry’s regular workshops and events. Be a VolunteerInkberry would be nothing without our volunteers, who perform tasks ranging from helping out at our readings and events to assembling mailings and press kits, from distributing flyers and calendars around the region to researching and drafting grants, from keeping our mailing list up-to-date to keeping our space beautiful.
