Funders
Inkberry has been blessed with some fantastic funders; we couldn’t be more grateful for the support we’ve received, both from our community and from organizations which support the arts. Here are some of the major institutions which have enabled us to flourish.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council, which supported us with a three-year Organizational Support grant beginning in 2005. The MCC has also supported us by funding the Local Cultural Council program; we’ve received grants from the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire to fund programs ranging from our anthology Inklings to our journaling workshops for breast cancer patients and survivors.
The National Endowment for the Arts, which supported us with a Challenge America Fast Track Grant in 2004. We used that grant to fund our Community Renewal and Sense of Place project, which brought nonfiction author Verlyn Klinkenborg, children’s book author Jane Yolen, and poet Jack Gilbert to the area (each in conjunction with another area organization: Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation, Words are Wonderful, and the Williams College Chaplains’ Office, respectively).
The Barrett Fund for Adams, part of The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, which gave us a grant to support to support a teen ‘zine writing workshop that we are presenting in 2006 in conjunction with the Adams Youth Center.
The Banner Family Fund, part of The Jewish Communal Fund, which has generously supported us for the last five years.
The Write Stuff Student Authors Night is funded by a grant from The Gateway Fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and is made possible by the following generous funders:
- Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency
- The Xeric Foundation
- North Adams Human Services Commission
- North Adams Public Schools
- Massachusetts Campus Compac (MCLA Center for Service)
- Mountain One Financial Partners
- Berkshire Bank Foundation
- Citizens Bank
